SightLogix Announces SightTracker, A GPS-Based PTZ Controller For Automated Outdoor Surveillance

Las Vegas, NV (ISC West) and Princeton, NJ – March 31, 2009 – SightLogix, Inc., maker of automated outdoor surveillance products for critical infrastructure protection, announced today the general availability of the SightLogix SightTracker, a GPS-based Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) controller for automated PTZ tracking and target identification.

SightTracker is designed to auto-steer PTZ cameras to follow a detected target’s precise location, solving the challenge of manually trying to locate and zoom in on a target with a PTZ camera’s narrow field of view. This is especially important when larger outdoor areas are under security management. Targets are simultaneously displayed onto a topology map of the secured area, providing security teams with the location of the event and an up-close view in order to make appropriate, time-critical decisions.

“There are hundreds of thousands of PTZ cameras in use today that are inevitably looking in the wrong direction when a security violation occurs,” said John Romanowich, SightLogix president and CEO. “By employing GPS positioning, SightTracker ensures that PTZ cameras automatically stay focused on the target, a critical requirement for outdoor security that until now has gone unfulfilled. We’re pleased by the strong market reception from our initial SightTracker clients to date.”

SightTracker, which operates as an element of the SightLogix Enterprise Security System, is available now from authorized SightLogix partners. SightTracker is specifically built to operate in harsh outdoor environments, and has been successfully installed in several high-profile security applications in the US and Middle East.
