Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Sales Support Field Engineer to join our team. Your key responsibilities will be working with our existing and new customers helping them to install, operationalize and service our cameras.
We desire candidates who are highly coachable, able to work both independently and collaboratively, with outstanding communication skills. You should have at least five years of experience implementing and supporting video transmission systems utilizing IP network infrastructure, including tasks like product configuration, integration with existing systems, troubleshooting network-based video issues, and providing technical expertise to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction across various video security applications.
Strong knowledge of IP Video, IP Networking, and related Security Systems (Video Management Systems, Video Analytics, and thorough knowledge of Low Voltage systems). The ideal candidate must have the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Due to the critical nature of our security applications, both in government and the commercial marketplace, you will need to pass a standard background check which includes a criminal records check prior to joining the SightLogix team.
This position is based at our Princeton NJ headquarters. This hybrid role requires 20-40% at HQ, and approximately 10-20% travel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Implementation and configuration of SightLogix Products: Install and configure SightLogix smart thermal and smart PTZ cameras. Work with video streaming protocols (RTSP, etc). Integrate with various VMS and NVR devices and existing network infrastructure.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing of IP video systems to ensure functionality, compatibility, and performance compliance with requirements.
- Perform quality assurance checks on video streams, including resolution, frame rate, and accuracy.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve network-related video issues such as pixelation, latency, dropped frames, and video stream interruptions.
- Analyze network performance metrics to identify potential bottlenecks and optimize video delivery. Provide technical support to customers regarding system operation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- System Design and Architecture: Work closely with our Engineering department to collaborate on testing, troubleshooting, and problem solving with existing cameras and new product development.
- Customer Relationship Management: Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and present solutions. Provide technical consultations to clients. Deliver training and support to end-users and/or channel partners on system operation and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of IP networking protocols (RTSP,DHCP, UDP, TCP, ETC))
- Expertise in video compression standards (H.264, H.265) and streaming protocols
- Knowledge of video surveillance technologies (PTZ cameras, analytics)
- Experience with network video recording systems (NVRs) and video management software (VMS)
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools and techniques
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Creative, friendly, and positive attitude with a passion for helping customers succeed.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong connections with the team and customers.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other customer success tools.
- CompTIA A+ certification, CompTIA Network+ certification (preferred)
