The SightLogix SightSensor is an intelligent video detection camera for outdoor area and perimeter security in all weather and geographic conditions, including rain, snow, humidity, sand and temperature extremes.
Designed for high Probability of Detect (PD) and low Nuisance Alarm Rates (NAR), the SightSensor camera incorporates either a visible or a thermal imager, lens optics, electronic stabilization, on-board image processing, video analytics software, camera control, and geospatial target tracking, all sealed inside a ruggedized NEMA 4X nitrogen-purged housing.
Multiple on-board digital signal processors (DSP) communicate directly with the image sensor to analyze the scene details of each video frame for better accuracy and extended range.
This extra processing power supports electronic image stabilization to eliminate video shake, while compensating for low and changing lighting conditions (only required in the visible model). The processing power embedded into each SightSensor is also used to accurately detect objects in a background of environmental movement such as leaves, shadows from clouds and wind-blown objects.
SightSensor cameras are registered to the scene with GPS coordinates so they can accurately determine target size, bearing, and speed and filter out small animals and blowing debris, reducing nuisance alarms.
SightLogix SightTrackers use geo-registration to display the coordinates of detected targets onto a sitemap for situational awareness, and to steer PTZ cameras to automatically zoom and track detected objects.
By providing a high level of imaging processing, each SightSensor camera can cover wider areas or greater distances, as much as three times the coverage area of other surveillance cameras. This means that SightLogix systems require fewer cameras, reducing the supporting infrastructure (poles, trenching, networking, power, etc.) and associated costs. As a result, SightSensor cameras lower installation, infrastructure and overall project costs by one-third versus alternatives.
