PRINCETON, NJ--(Marketwire - July 17, 2008) - SightLogix, Inc. announced today that their mobile and fixed position automated outdoor video surveillance system has been selected to participate in Operation Golden Phoenix 2008, to be held July 21-24. The four-day exercise, led by US Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection, the County of San Diego, the City of San Diego and the U.S. Marine Corps Aircraft Group-46, is designed to illustrate cooperative command, communications and logistical capabilities among participating local, state and federal agencies, which will join military assets to demonstrate a coordinated multi-agency humanitarian aid response.

For its role in the exercises, SightLogix will provide wireless thermal-infrared and visible-sight versions of the SightLogix Intelligent Video Surveillance (IVS) system, a standards-based, in-camera processing platform that integrates camera control, image processing and stabilization, geo-registered object tracking, and behavior analysis. The SightLogix system will form part of an integrated Golden Phoenix exercise designed to provide first responders, military, and homeland security teams with shared access to incident-specific information for quick positioning and rapid response to crisis situations.

SightLogix' fixed and mobile automated surveillance solution capability has been previously funded by DHS through the 2008 CEDAP program to strengthen the nation's level of preparedness with pre-emptive and post-incident management security solutions for state and local jurisdictions across the nation.

At Golden Phoenix, SightLogix technology, purpose-built for harsh outdoor environments, will be used to establish a virtual perimeter around a designated "hot zone" for target tracking in geospatial time. By providing long-range target detection and tracking around a security event, emergency response teams will gain critical intelligence to contain a potential widespread contamination. All checkpoints and boundaries selected for constant video surveillance and detection for the duration of the exercise will be monitored by SightLogix thermal infrared and visible surveillance technology.

Exercises like Golden Phoenix provide a real-world example that supports the DHS objective for a comprehensive multi-agency response to natural and man-made disasters.
